While most people dress fairly casually in class and at our regular club nights, every now and then it's fun to dress up!
Looking for ideas on how to perfect Swing Era style........?
Think of the films Bugsy Malone, Cabaret, The Sting, Chicago, think 1920's flapper girls, think Speakeasies, think gangsters and molls, think show-girls, think 1930's Hollywood glamour, think burlesque, think peep show, thing 1940's land girls, think World War Two soldiers/sailors/airmen. Or into the 1950's - think Grease, think Rock n Roll, think Happy Days. Or just look on Google Images for ideas.
Shops to facilitate your search are Harlequins (near Grogans); Jenny Vander; A Star Is Born on Clarendon Row (only open on Saturdays, down an alley near Market Bar); Retro in Market Arcade next to Simon's Cafe; V for Vintage at 12 Crown Alley (next to Bad Ass Cafe); Babydoll Boutique at 3 Crow Street; and at 9 Crow Street there's a lovely vintage shop...The Grand Social has a flea market on Saturdays..... and....good old Penneys! Good things are being said about Golly Gosh Vintage, 2 Crown Alley above Happy Days. Shotsy Vintage on Temple Lane South in Temple Bar have a nice selection of "dashing gents and elegant ladies wear" and some very cute turbans for €7. We've recently discovered Beaux Bows in the Market Arcade and love the vintage fashion they have in there!
